Build San Antonio Green

Build San Antonio Green is a 501(C)(3) that works with builders and developers to certify green homes in San Antonio. Our Goal is to create awareness and interest among the builders and the homeowners in resource-efficient building methods, materials, and technologies. We do this primarily through our program and the certification of homes as green. We also educate home owners and buyers so they can make informed choices to reduce energy and water consumption and work with our Partners to create programs for air quality improvement, water conservation, energy efficiency and renewable energy.

Build San Antonio Green was founded by Bill Sinkin in 2001. Build San Antonio Green manages a nationally award winning residential green certification program that has certified over 14,000 projects to date resulting in 22.5 MW of Peak Demand Reduction and 377 million lbs of CO2 to be saved since it’s inception 21 years ago.

Our Mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life of the citizens of the metropolitan San Antonio Area by developing standards by which to certify newly constructed and existing structures to green standards, and to provide leadership, expertise, and education for the wise, efficient, and sustainable use of energy and resources.
